Here it remains another 4 inch by 2.5 inch element in the background even though it is purportedly the soundtrack of the lovers’ life. There is another retro prop—the typewriter with those golden keys—and then there is Kolkata, a city caught in a time warp. None of which seem organic, but planted and too obviously constructed. And none of the elements can camouflage the sheer banality of the story. It’s this deliberate touch that prevents the whimsy from flying.
A lot more charm was needed here but dullness, unfortunately, is all we get.
Indeed a very good movie. Heavily inspired from the recent Bengali blockbuster 'Open Tee Bioscope'. Looks as if the director took one of the subplots of the Bengali movie and extrapolated it, while diluting certain unique Bengali traits like the 'para' culture, 'football' etc. King of fighters download. It is interesting to note that on an average most Bengali reviewers critic/normal have rated it at least 1 more than avg. I have seen its ratings on all the major forums, they follow this weird trend. Maybe YRF ought to have made the movie in Bengali itself for regional audiences. Also, this is one of those rare Bollywood movies where the music is integral to the plot. There aren't any useless songs and dance.
