To fix the glitch, all you need to do is to first change your region to Europe from Americas using the Battle.net client, or the other way around depending on which one you selected previously. Next, try logging in after launching the game, which should fail.
Finally, revert the server back to the original settings and try to log-in again. You game should successfully launch now without any error.
