Paris, FR, February 6, 2018-On February 6, Gerflor entered into a binding agreement to acquire DLW’s linoleum activities. Consummation of the transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected to occur in March 2018. The transaction includes the take-over by Gerflor of the manufacturing plant in Delmenhorst, Germany as well as a part of the company’s sales force and support functions. With this transaction, DLW’s linoleum activities will, after the past years of uncertainty, be integrated into the Gerflor SAS group. Gerflor and DLW have been cooperating for a long time in France, where Gerflor has been distributing DLW’s linoleum products since 2011.

This acquisition will enable Gerflor to expand its products portfolio in resilient flooring with a remarkably sustainable solution. With these linoleum activities, Gerflor will provide its customers with an even wider range of solutions in some of its key market applications such as healthcare, education, housing, sport or retail.

Armstrong World Industries aquired DLW back in 1998 but in December 2014, Armstrong announced that it had decided to exit its European flooring business and cease further funding of its DLW subsidiary. As a result of this decision, local DLW management filed for insolvency in Germany. Related Topics. About Floor Focus and is the oldest and most trusted flooring magazine. A highlight of the collection, especially for architects and Bauhaus fans everywhere, is the new Uni Walton. Fitting for linoleum's 150th birthday, Armstrong has developed six new colours for this monochrome structure: two warm grey tones, a camel brown, a beige, a refined racing green and a dark coffee brown, called 'Spanish brown'. These reflect the look of linoleum 150 years ago, which Armstrong has now reintroduced for the 2013 jubilee. The Le Corbusier-based colours are updated classics from the old DLW repertoire, in time for the Bauhaus year and the 150th anniversary of Henry Van de Velde's birth. With its minimal design, Uni Walton results in a surface that is peaceful and calming. The darker colours in particular have a classical elegance well-suited to purist interior design.
